Are you looking for MLB Jobs? WorkInSports.com has worked with more teams in baseball than any other job board in the sports industry. There is a high volume of jobs and internships that are posted to our site every day from employers throughout the sports industry in all sports nationwide.

Baseball is known as America’s Pastime and has been at the forefront of pro sports since it originated at the professional level in the late 1800’s. Major League Baseball (MLB) is comprised of two leagues, the National League and the American League, which are each segmented into three divisions for a grand total of 30 teams. Currently, baseball makes up 20 percent of the sporting industry and has become largely popular in other countries as well. Each Major League Baseball team employs an average of 150-200 full time employees, and expands to include another 250+ during the season to ensure that everything, from ticket sales to field maintenance, is done by game time.

Baseball is played at a number of levels, by amateurs and professionals, therefore creating a surplus of job opportunities. Minor League Baseball (MiLB), which is made up of more than 190 teams in its entirety competes one level below MLB, and operates as an affiliate. This current system develops players at many different levels, thus opening up many job opportunities at levels such as A, AA, AAA, the rookie system, etc. Amateur baseball is played on many levels. Traditionally, children start out playing Tee Ball Baseball, followed by Little League, Babe Ruth League, High School, and then on to NCAA Baseball. There are countless amateur baseball leagues for players ranging in age from younger than 5, to up to 65+. This immense amount of leagues allows for many employment and volunteer positions all over the country.

Baseball is also played on an international level, in the form of the World Baseball Classic. The WBC is a tournament featuring teams from qualifying nations, and is played all over the world every four years. The last WBC’s semi-final and final games were played in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium in 2009.
