Job Description:

Works with the Content Manager within the Communications Department. Interns will gain experience working on the Public Relations side of sports writing. Essential duties are as follows:

•Authoring game stories, news stories and feature stories for website and the Gameday Program.
•Acting as a producer during the in-game live blogs. This includes watching away games on NESN to help with the production of the in-game live blogs.
•Recording interviews on a mini-camera for use on the TV website as well as distribution to local television stations.
•Transcribing coach and player interviews for distribution to local media.
•Assisting the Communications staff in gameday media operations during home games.
•Other duties as assigned.

This is a writing-intensive position as prospective candidates will publish stories on the website and should possess strong writing backgrounds. Candidates must be organized, responsible, punctual and have flexible schedules to work some nights and all home games during the time of the internship. This internship is required to work all home games. Strongly prefer those candidates with more availability and those that are located in Boston until the end of June 2010.

•January-May (spring, application deadline 12/1)
•May-August (summer, application deadline 4/1)
•September-December (fall, application deadline 8/1)
