Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Team Sponsorship Development in the Team Marketing & Business Operations department, this individual will be responsible for working with teams to maximize their sponsorship revenue, identify sponsorship trends and actively share best practices.
Major Responsibilities:
•Resource for teams with regards to best practices in sponsorship sales and promotional activities. Share industry trends and best practices through regular communications (e.g. monthly team sponsorship call, monthly trends newsletter)
•Ongoing development of sponsorship tools, communications and training opportunities for teams (e.g. Digital Operations, Team Sales Academy)
•Liaison between Marketing Partnerships, Digital Media Operations, Global Merchandising Group and teams regarding prospects and accounts
•Oversee the formal Team Promotional Proposal (TPP) review process to identify opportunities to enhance and maximize local sponsorships. In addition, the review process ensures alignment with the marketing guidelines and operations manual and overall collection of team agreements
•Serve as primary contact for third party vendor relationships supporting team sponsorship initiatives
Required Skills/Knowledge:
•Complete understanding of sponsorship sales and activation process
•Ability to manage multiple team members, tasks and business priorities
•Strong leadership, communication, organization and interpersonal skills
•Exceptional writing and editing skills
•Attention to detail, a must
•Strong oral and negotiation skills
•Strong work ethic, self-starter
•Basketball savvy
•Strong computer skill including: Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, and PowerPoint
•5+ years in team, league and/or agency experience in sponsorship sales
•Bachelor’s Degree
