Job Description: As our Senior IT Business Consultant (BC), you'll bring a broad experience of successfully ideating and delivering value that enables our company to increase productivity, realize efficiencies and build profitable customer experiences. To be considered, you'll bring the following: * Proficiency in eliciting and developing business value and cost/benefit analysis of an initiative in conjunction with a finance partner * Strong collaborative skills to work across myriad stakeholder group to translate goals and objectives into delivery strategies * Deep and diverse experience developing action plans and processes (preferably using the Scientific Method, Lean Plan-Do-Check-Adjust) in coordination with a management team, for integrating activities and optimizing department resources to meet major goals and objectives * Experienced in effective and value-added business planning, budgeting, and policy development * Comfortable and competent in developing internal and/or external partnerships that leverage resources and improve responsiveness * Success in designing and facilitating requirements elicitation sessions including use of interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process outcome modeling, personas, user centric design, customer and user ethnography, task and workflow analysis * Adaptability in determining appropriate requirements capture and management methods including but not limited to use cases, user stories, customer journeys and storyboards * Successfully elicit all forms of requirements from appropriate suppliers and sources (e.g. functional, performance, usability, compliance, regulatory, technical) * Experience in full life-cycle solution delivery projects (more than 15 people, longer than 6 months) * Experience, interest and adaptability to working in a Waterfall or Lean/Agile delivery environment * Exceptional collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills. * Successful track record dealing with executive level professionals to drive business outcomes * Experience in Lean process improvement efforts * A consultancy approach to your work * Commitment to collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs * Passion for being the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams Requirements for the position include: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant subject area * 5 years' professional experience in IT or business * 2 years' additional relevant professional experience accepted in lieu of a degree * Experience working as a Business System Analyst and System Analyst on multiple projects and business functions * Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate business functionality and opportunities into clear, precise and easy-to-read functional specifications critical * Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how IT needs to support the business in achieving revenue and profit goals * Proven ability to pull a diverse group of individuals with different goals together and facilitate productive discussions * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment * Demonstrated leadership capability, including ability to motivate and mentor others within work group * Ability to work with onshore/offshore teams, and communicate using virtual communication tools (phone, conferencing, online meeting) * Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical IT teams * Lean experience with applied principles and methods preferred * Ability to pass a 7-year background investigation * Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with iterative and waterfall development methodologies (e.g. BABOK, XP, Scrum, RUP, XUP, etc) * Deep knowledge and hands on creation of key artifacts including uses cases, UML, user stories, user acceptance criteria, functional specifications, configuration stories or specifications To make it clear, we're not looking for just anyone.
