Job Description:
Candidate will work with our Business Department (Finance and Accounting) to learn more about the business side of the media industry. With the Finance and Accounting departments, you’ll work with A/R and A/P to learn what it takes to juggle the competing demands of advertisers, sales staff, and gain an understanding of compliance regulations, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Internships average approximately 10 – 20 hours per week and include mostly day shifts. Nights, weekends, and holidays may be required from time to time for the Promotions and Programming Internships. Internships include some office and clerical work. These positions are for academic credit only.
The intern positions require the following:
Must be a currently enrolled college student.
Must have a GPA of C or above.
Course of study in communications/broadcasting or business is preferred.
Must have good communication skills – oral and written.
Must have excellent office and computer skills.
Must be familiar with the format of the station you want to work with.
Must have flexible hours and be able to work at least 12 hours per week.
Current driver’s license and clean driving record helpful.
