Enter “The Conversation” on Work in Sports

Since we launched our blog back in June of 2013, thousands of you have commented on our articles and engaged in thought provoking dialogue about the sports industry with me, your humble scribe.

Which got us to thinking…what if we brought relevant sports industry conversation to a whole new level?

The easy answer would be to use tools already in place like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, and we do all of those things. But we really wanted to go a step further – so we built our own sports industry hub that we are calling: “The Conversation”.

It’ simple to get involved in the chatter – if you are a free member (i.e. you’ve registered with us using your email, but haven’t upgraded to a premium membership) or you are a premium member (i.e. you have access to everything we do) when you are logged in and visit WorkinSports.com you will be directed to “The Conversation” where you can still search for jobs with ease, but also stay current with what is happening in the sports industry.

You can still conduct job searches as you always have, but you also have the opportunity to engage and interact with us. Ask questions! Comment on sports news! Share your thoughts! We want it all.

“The Conversation” breaks down into simple segments:

  • The Latest: That’s everything, in one timeline
  • Jobs: updates on recent jobs posted that we think are interesting, or new employers we’ve signed up
  • News: Industry information and relevant facts to your pursuit of a sports job
  • Buzz: What people are talking about in sports

On every post there is a spot for you to comment and engage. We are always monitoring and responding to your comments, so it’s like a real-time chat with our crew of sports industry experts. Here’s a more comprehensive view:

We just launched this new function on Monday December 8th, so if you have a suggestion to make it better or ideas we can develop for version 2.0, please share them here in the comments or anywhere as part of “The Conversation” …as you know by now, we listen and we respond!

    My name is Joseph P. McGrath Jr. I wanted to see how many others are out there still trying to get into their career? I have been working part time and been applying since 2003 and still not at all where I want to be. I work part time for the Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Phillies as a Charity Raffle Seller, and Pacolian as a Ticket Representative. I have been in the industry for a number of years, know what it takes to work hard, understand it is not a 9-5 Monday to Friday job and still not in my career. I am very unsatisfied of where I am at and determined, passionate, and willing to do whatever it takes to begin the next step in a full time career.
