Focused on a “player-first” approach, the H1Z1 Pro League is a partnership between Daybreak Games and Twin Galaxies to create a sustainable, first of its kind, professional esports league for the “one versus all” battle royale genre. Through the partnership with Twin Galaxies, an organization built on community adjudication, the H1Z1 Pro League will be established as the pinnacle of integrity in esports. The truly unique partnership with Daybreak Games will allow for the close collaboration necessary to create a cohesive experience to go from average joe to professional player.
As the next generation of esports league, the mission of the H1Z1 Pro League is to operate with integrity and dedication to players and teams to establish a sustainable ecosystem. The H1Z1 Pro League is set to get underway in early 2018, with 15 teams of five players each competing in 75-player battles over two ten-week splits, followed by finals slated for late 2018.
Twin Galaxies is seeking an experienced Esports General Manager with a strong understanding of esports as well as traditional sports, and proven history of managing complex projects with diverse stakeholders. The Esports General Manager will work closely with the Director of Esports Leagues to help create a global, world-class esports ecosystem designed to ensure teams and players can thrive, and fans have the best experience possible. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of event and broadcast management, and hold themselves to an unwavering quality standard.
-Lead the global execution of high profile esports competitions.
-Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and iterate formats and systems that meet key game objectives, while also aligning with esports business priorities.
-Work with partners to ensure high-quality and impactful event and broadcast production.
-Define and communicate the program’s creative vision, from structure to branding.
-Accountable for all aspects of program execution, including vendor selection and management, live broadcasts, tournament administration, player and talent management, promotion, legal framework, merchandise, live events, live broadcasts and communications (internal and external).
-Track and stay within budgets globally, making crucial spending decisions where necessary.
-Communicate product status reports, assessing risk and new opportunities.
-Work with the Director of Esports Leagues on distribution strategy, logistics, and content calendar.
-Collaborate with leadership to establish program key performance indicators and measure program success over time.
-Build and maintain exceptional relationships with internal and external teams to execute plans, including the development teams, community, marketing, public relations, events, broadcast, IT, legal, web, and others.
-Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
-A minimum of 5 years’ experience in product and / or program management
-Deep understanding of event management and broadcast production
-Strategic thinker with excellent leadership, management, and communications skills
-Able to organize thoughts and make decisions under time constraints and a full work load
-Experience managing a budget and working with international teams
-Strong understanding of traditional sports ecosystem
-Boundless enthusiasm for esports
-Able to occasionally travel, including internationally
