ResponsibilitiesNBCUniversal seeks a layer for a full-time, one year engagement as a Legal Specialist for the NBCSports Group, Business & Legal Affairs Department. The engagement is renewable for a maximum of one year. The position is based at Golf Channel & GolfNow in Orlando, Flordia.
The Legal Specialist will assist attorneys in a variety of commercial, marketing and general corporate transactional matters which will likely include the following: drafting and reviewing documents with various golf course partners; assisting with legal aspects of marketing and promotion initiatives and partnerships; managing the large volume of workflow of incoming and outgoing documents; drafting talent contracts, digital/technology vendor agreements and non-disclosure agreements; and providing research and other assistance on various projects as needed. This position will also provide support for legal aspects of Golf Channel's television network and other new media businesses as needed. This position requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Under supervision of senior attorneys, negotiate, draft, review and interpret an extensive range of agreements including, but not limited to, contracts, amendments and other legal documentation with golf course partners, vendors, talent and strategic partners; assist with the review and revision of contracts, including the preparation of contract documents and amendments from templates.
Evaluate incoming contracts for accuracy and review contract language with senior attorneys as necessary.
Maintain a complete understanding of internal contract requirements to ensure that company business fundamentals are foundational and reflected in final agreements.
Determine the priorities, goals and objectives of contract requests received daily.
Review and analyze contracts, case and/or administrative files, and other documents to summarize, extract and/or digest information requested by attorneys in the Legal Department.
Coordinate with NBC Sport Group's Business & Legal Affairs department as needed to support the achievement of business goals.
Conduct legal research as needed. Qualifications/RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
CANDIDATE MUST HAVE PASSED A BAR EXAM AND HAVE PRACTICED LAW FOR ONE TO TWO YEARS AFTER GRADUATION
Ability to draft high quality legal documents exercising independent judgment and discretion.
Experience as the principal person responsible for managing a high volume of information and multiple duties.
Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
Excellent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Must be willing to work in Orlando, FL.
Must be available 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Must be 18 years or older.
