Job Description:

ResponsibilitiesJob Scope
Responsible for sales revenue and local sales staff to ensure all financial goals are being met while developing and maintaining relationships with clients and ad agencies.

  • Assists GSM in establishing targeted financial budget and market share goals for local sales team
  • Monitors local sales activity on a weekly basis from internal sources.
  • Responsible for performance of local Account Executives; Tracking individual billing, share increases, and new business development.
  • Develop quality relationships with decision makers at every level of the client and prospects business.
  • Works on assisting in the development of individual accounts and new business.
  • Develops and monitors prospecting of major new business accounts with entire local sales team.
  • Plans and runs weekly sales meetings, updating team on inventory, programming opportunities, internal protocols and guidelines.
  • Responsible for training, evaluating, and hiring local sales staff. Qualifications/RequirementsBasic Qualifications/Requirements
  • Four years of experience in television sales.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing/communications or advertising, or equivalent related experience.

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be willing to work in Chicago, IL
  • Ability to travel as required

  • Requires a thorough knowledge of ratings and strategies of each station.
  • Must demonstrate effective negotiation, oral and written communication skills to communicate with and influence internal and external contacts.
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, positive attitude and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, weekends & holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
