The Broadcast Engineer at NBC Sports Boston is responsible for on-air quality control, end user technical support, and new equipment installation/maintenance/repairs at a state of the art broadcast, media, and IT environment.
Act as technical quality supervisor for studio productions, live events, remote feeds, etc.
Perform equipment repairs, system installation/integration, and training/guidance for operations personnel.
Assist users with difficulties associated with satellite feeds, non-linear editing equipment, video server systems, digital audio mixing equipment, video productions switchers, graphics platforms, camera/robotics systems, studio lighting, intercom systems, etc.
Contact vendors, peers, and/or technical support services to facilitate timely resolution of operational and technical problems.
Perform other duties as required. Qualifications/RequirementsQualifications/Requirements
2 1/2 years of broadcast/media facility experience
Ability to identify and resolve a diverse mix of logical and technical problems.
Solid understanding of modern broadcast television equipment and methodologies.
Significant experience with IT/network administration.
Working knowledge of control room, non-linear editing, IT, ENG, studio and remote transmission technologies and systems.
Familiarity with audio and video signal measurement equipment, standards, and practices.
Experience with the operation and administration of file based media workflows and electronic newsroom automation technologies.
Excellent people skills with the ability to effectively address, manage, and resolve the concerns of co-workers and peers.
Strong technical aptitude.
Ability to function efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
