International Speedway Corporation, (“ISC”) founded in 1953, is a leading promoter of motorsports-themed entertainment activities in the United States. The company owns and/or operates 13 of the nation’s premier motorsports entertainment facilities, which in total, have approximately 900,000 grandstand seats and 500 suites. ISC’s facilities are located in six of the nation’s top 13 media markets and nearly 80 percent of the country’s population is located within the primary trading areas of its facilities. ISC promotes major motorsports events in every month of the racing season — more than any other motorsports promoter. Collectively, the company’s facilities promote well over 100 motorsports events during the racing season.
Having opened in 1968, Michigan International Speedway is primarily used for NASCAR events, owned by International Speedway Corporation. Based in Brooklyn, Michigan International Speedway is recognized as one of motorsports' premier facilities because of its wide racing surface and high banking (by open-wheel standards; the 18-degree banking is modest by stock car standards). Michigan is the fastest track in NASCAR due to its wide, sweeping corners, long straightaways, and lack of a restrictor plate requirement.
The Manager, Corporate Partnership Sales at Michigan International Speedway is responsible for implementing new ideas and developing relationships with local and regional companies to understand individual marketing and business goals and initiatives. This person must be an energetic strategically-minded individual who can inspire others and communicate a vision of success that drives revenue and maximizes the guest experience.
-Responsible for the prospecting, creating, and selling of new corporate partnerships for MIS
-Responsible for creation/implementation of new ideas/opportunities that drive revenue
-Primarily responsible for establishing new business revenue through the sales of corporate partnerships
-Identify key open categories and new categories as prospective business leads
-Establish strong working relationships with local and regional companies to understand individual marketing and business goals and initiatives
-Manage seasonal and part-time corporate partnership sales employees to assist in the development of new sales leads
-Identify local and national trends and emerging markets and adjust strategies accordingly
-Develop meaningful business relationships with existing and potential corporate partners
-Create compelling sales presentations to senior level decisions makers incorporating a clear understanding of the prospective partner’s marketing and business objectives
-Work with Americrown and other departments within Michigan International Speedway to ensure the fulfillment of all on-site benefits for associated partners
-Fully utilize EBMS as a CRM and inventory tool
-Limited amount of travel will be required
-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
-College degree required
-2-3 years of sponsorship sales/client services experience; team, media or sports experience required
-Thorough understanding of the sports landscape
-Thorough understanding of sponsorship sales and sponsorship activation
-Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and written
-Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and projects while working with many categories of clients
-Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
-Strong interpersonal skills are required and the ability to work independently is a must
-Valid driver’s license
