Job Description:

ResponsibilitiesThe Transmission Engineers is responsible for the technical operation of all Golf Channel transmissions and Teleport equipment and systems.Job Duties
  • Evaluation and resolution of technical issues as they occur
  • Evaluation of transmission signals using in-house test equipment
  • Be able to perform all uplinks MPEG2 and MPEG4
  • High volume environment must be able to work under pressure
  • Evaluate RF/fiber signals using spectrum analyzers, Pixelmetrix, waveform monitors and vectorscopes
  • Perform routing on Evertz High Definition routing systems
  • Setup all communications both intercom and IFBs for all remotes
  • Communicate with remote SNG vehicles and satellite TOCs
  • Communicate with in-house staff on feed status
  • Maintain all required logs and fill out all required feed information in Schedule link system
  • Operate and maintain the Teleport facilities
  • Operate the Crystal Facilities Control System
  • Operate the Crystal Facilities Control System
  • Operate the Transmission Console. Perform all required recordings, perform all required audio and video routing, adjust standards converters, adjust up down and cross-converters, and frame syncs.
  • Setting up all records in the Avid Interplay capture and Sony XDC AM.The Transmission staff are required to perform all maintenance and alignment in accordance with the Golf Channel technical standards as well as the technical limits as defined by EIA RS-170A/SMPTE 274M/SMPTE 292M guidelines and FCC RF emission guidelines.
  • Qualifications/RequirementsBasic Qualifications
  • 3-5 years experience in broadcast facility operations
  • Satellite uplink and/or downlink, teleport experience
  • Ability to work under pressure receiving a high volume of feeds
  • Ability to design small systems and perform all cabling installation
  • Proficient with computers and office softwareAdditional Job Requirements
