Job Description:

ResponsibilitiesRole PurposeThe Olympic Channel Researcher is expected to support live and taped broadcasts of Olympic sports, providing research information for on-air talent and production teamsResponsibilities
  • Provide research support for Olympic sports broadcasts
  • Write and edit research documents, such as athlete biographies and event previews
  • Manage effective distribution methods for research information
  • Respond to specific research requests from production personnel and on-air talent
  • Create clear, organized, creative presentations, reports and decks
  • Prepare talent prior to shows and provide accurate, on-the-spot research during broadcasts
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of on-air content
  • Qualifications/RequirementsBasic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 6 months experience (internships included) in sports information, research, broadcast/print journalism and/or related field
  • Sound editorial judgment, attention to detail, and fact-checking ability
  • Working knowledge of various research sources and methods
  • Journalistic writing ability
  • Strong knowledge of and interest in Olympic sports Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
  • Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

    Desired Characteristics

  • Experience working in one or more Olympic sports, particularly network level research and writing
  • Experience providing sports information for on-air broadcasters
  • Experience as a senior writer or editor at a college/professional daily newspaper or top line magazine
  • Experience working in a sports information office
  • Self-motivated, versatile, and energetic
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a group
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
