Job Description:

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures for the Olympic Channel Post Production Department, including edit workflow, ingesting, exporting, and delivery of all media to be used across the NBC Sports platforms in regards to Olympic sports content
  • Work directly with the Director of Post Production to hire, train, and schedule editors and assistant editors to work with Olympic sports content based on Production needs
  • Identify viable freelance editors that can be brought in based on the needs of production schedule
  • Act as the point person for 3rd party vendors who deliver content for the various NBC Sports platforms
  • Be able to step in and perform editor duties when necessary
  • Qualifications/RequirementsBasic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years working in a high paced post production environment
  • Experience in a sports television environment and familiarity with sports lexicon
  • Experience in overseeing post production personnel and scheduling editors for both large and small productions
  • Must have extensive experience with Avid and the Interplay/Airspeed environment
  • Must have extensive experience with EVS systems, all video decks and formats, knowledge of various codecs and video standards and how to transcode between them effectively
  • Knowledge of post audio environments, such as ProTools and other audio software that integrate with the needs of the Post Production DepartmentEligibility Requirements

    Desired Characteristics

  • Ability to work with engineering and IT staff to troubleshoot systems and keep workflow at optimal levels
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and take creative direction
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of Olympics, professional sports, college sports, athletes, teams, etc.
  • Skilled communicator, both written and verbal
