Manager, Sales Operations
Reports to VP, Sales

Job Description Summary:

Manage support staff for linear and traffic support teams. Oversee 3 traffic coordinators and 1 ad sales support staff members with goal of maximizing a singular team performance. Determine processes; maximize accuracy and efficiency for all commercial administration. Responsible for newly created duty of maximizing ad sales inventory through ad sales yield management. Act as lead contact for EC (Master Control), Wide Orbit and Ad Sales Systems Entry and Posting Systems (forthcoming). Institute performance standards and metrics to hold team accountable for accurate and timely performance.

Linear and Digital Sales Responsibilities:
  • Manage the placement of linear ad sales orders after initial input into Wide Orbit with focus on maximizing inventory utilization and meeting/exceeding intended goals of the client.
  • Manage game logs and other potential inventory oversell areas in advance to minimize late spot movement and have game logs ready for EC delivery on time daily.
  • Determine which advertisers receive potential ADU and GWB weight in order to maximize inventory and minimize churn.
  • Advise sales management of sell out and make pricing recommendations based on yield management goals.

Commercial Administration Responsibilities:
Manage all related functions of the Commercial Administration Department. This includes interaction with sales, news, finance, promotion, programming and Englewood Cliffs Networks Operations Center.

Responsibilities include:
  • Accurate and timely finalization of the daily broadcast log
  • Department adherence to established WideOrbit Scheduling & WideOrbit Sales standards.
  • Ensure integrity of order booking process and processing of all orders in WideOrbit.
  • Maintain inventory codes for sales orders and for inventory & revenue reporting purposes.
  • Maintain accurate program schedule & formatting in WideOrbit Daily broadcast log reconciliation and end of month review and sign off for billing.
  • Daily interface with Network Operations Center to ensure proper execution of broadcast schedule - Missing Material Reports, Day of Air changes, and Broadcast Process & Defect resolution.
  • Point of Contact for Englewood Cliffs Webscheduler traffic team


Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in the local sales process of the media industry is required. Experience from a Traffic or Sales Operation background.
  • Strong experience in Wide Orbit or similar traffic system
  • Experience in digital ad ops systems such as Freewheel, DFP and Operative 1 preferred.
  • Ability to deal with a diverse segment of stakeholders - sales, digital, finance, programming, content, master control.
  • Experience managing a team
  • Ability to think strategically and examine legacy processes and recommend changes to increase efficiency
  • Strong oral and written communication skills a must
  • Strong Excel and Power Point skills
