Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Technical Lead will play a key role in Building Drupal based apps for NBC Sports Business Applications Group. The work will involve working on multiple projects with varied levels of complexity and functional needs.

Key responsibilities will be:

  • Work with the Product teams to understand Business Requirements.
  • Work with the Solution Architect teams to outline the design for projects considering technology, skill set and timelines. Generate technical documentation supporting the design.
  • Provide and manage work estimates and measure variances to the estimates on a regular basis.
  • Develop cloud ready solutions using Drupal 8, PHP and other essential toolsets and integration end points. Build mobile ready solutions.
  • Understand the delivery needs, set expectations and Prioritize to meet the timelines agreed upon.
  • Guide and prioritize work for the team members and ensure compliance to coding standards and security guidelines.
  • Tracking Work Progress and reporting out to the Management on a regular and timely basis highlighting risks, challenges and achievements.
  • Build and manage relationships with supporting IT teams to effectively deliver work products to production
  • Post Go-Live Support for applications covering support SLA's, operational metrics and system maintenance.
  • Bring the best of the industry back to the team and constantly look for opportunities to improve.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive application development experience, working in large scale/distributed environments.
  • Technical Stack: Drupal 8, PHP, HTML 5, Jscript, SQL Server, MySql
  • Experience implementing applications that are mobile ready and highly responsive.
  • Experience implementing scalable, distributed, and highly available systems using cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, PCF and/or Google Cloud
    Bachelor's degree plus relevant Drupal experience

  • Communicator - You have excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to communicate ideas effectively across all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical
  • Action-oriented - You're constantly figuring out new problems and are regularly showing results with a positive attitude, always displaying ethical behavior, integrity, and building trust
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and best practices
  • You've dealt with ambiguity and can make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Media-focused - Working knowledge of media including TV, digital, and mobile is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Security and Compliance needs for software development.
