Job Description:


NBC Sports Washington is looking for a Manager, Content Planning to help lead multiplatform initiatives across Washington Redskins content and other content to be assigned.

  • Create cross-platform content plans on daily, weekly and big event basis (e.g. NFL Trade Deadline lead-up plan)
  • Facilitate and lead the discussion, coordination and execution across all content creators within the designated sport
  • Establish the one big multi-platform initiative for each designated sport on daily basis (i.e., 24/7/365)
  • Evaluate data to create rich content plans that foster user habit (i.e., reach, frequency and time spent), organic promotion of content, and drive compelling storylines
  • Work closely with sales counterparts to mold content plans around key sales initiatives or needs, while also creating customizable content which can be monetized throughout all NBCSW platforms
  • Consistently communicate in advance with Marketing team on all initiatives, to establish priorities and the creation of assets
  • Ability to produce, shoot and/or edit content


Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar or related industry
  • Advanced background in either linear or digital production, and/or content development
  • Experience in sports media for a professional organization preferred
  • Working knowledge of linear, digital and audio metrics
  • Experience either producing content, ideating new programs or launching content initiatives
  • Knowledge of social media best practices on platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Instagram Stories
  • Experience creating thorough, detailed, documentation in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced knowledge of sports, including the ability to formulate content ideas around past events and in anticipation of upcoming events on the sports calendar
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed

Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Television, Communications, Broadcast Journalism, or related field is desired but not required; will consider related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to handle demands and work in a high paced environment
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities a must
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
