Job Description:


WSNS-TV, Telemundo Chicago, is a Spanish language TV station in one of the top markets in the country. We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable sports/news reporter. Candidate must have great Spanish-writing skills who can develop and produce content for all content platforms.

  • Write accurate and compelling news stories for all content platforms
  • Stories must be journalistically sound, fair and balanced while meeting
    daily on-air deadlines with proven track record as a news journalist
  • Dynamic and accurate delivery of information during daily live shots
    Produce, write and present sports segment in studio
  • Develop story ideas for relevant content that is reflective of the community
  • Flawless execution of live reporting during newscasts and breaking news
  • Create content for digital platforms daily (news and sports)
  • Build relationships with community and contacts for developing story leads
  • Represent Telemundo throughout the year in community-related events within and outside of regular working hours

  • Qualifications/Requirements

  • B.A. in Journalism or related field
  • At least 3 years of broadcast news and sports reporting/writing experience
  • Strong ability to adlib and engaging delivery during breaking news and sports coverage
  • Past success with strong writing and story-telling skills
  • Excellent Spanish writing and speaking skills
  • Solid English language skills
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Excellent knowledge of all sports including soccer, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, boxing among others

  • Must be willing to work extended hours, varying shifts (including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays) and report to work for breaking news
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resume (if applicable)
  • Must accept Solutions, as NBCUniversal's Dispute resolution program
