Responsibilities

PLEASE NOTE: This is a project / limited term position with an estimated duration of 2-3 months during Games Time, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

Role Purpose:
The Video Streaming Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating with internal departments and external partners to create live streams of sporting events on desktop, mobile and connected devices for digital consumption. The coordinator will also monitor real-time traffic and the quality of these live streams using digital analytic tools. In some cases the coordinator will be responsible for creating full event replays of the streams and coordinating with the NBC Sports Edit Desk to get these streams promoted on the web at NBCSports.com. The Coordinator will be expected to work nights and weekends, as these are the most popular times for sports to be broadcasted. There will also be responsibilities that include testing on new player builds with project managers in the digital department and conducting Quality Control and Quality Assurance on NBC Sports app upgrades.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up digital events and monitor feeds for all events in NBC Sports portfolio including: NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, Olympic Sports, Premier League, NASCAR and more.
  • Comfortable with online CMS, Wikis and other task management systems
  • Ability to work with outside vendors and internal resources such as developers, designers, editorial and advertising operations in a cross functional capacity
  • Incorporates quality control processes into workload - i.e. testing, smoke testing
  • Ability to adapt/adopt new technology and solutions easily
  • Scheduled coverage hours would primarily be weekday nights and weekends


Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Video Production, or in a relevant field
  • Minimum one (1) year experience including internships ideally in a sports digital or linear production/operations environment.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience working with technology frameworks such as Flash, HTML 5, and JavaScript
  • Must have a reliable work history and be punctual


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to work overtime, overnight hours, weekends
  • Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
