Role Purpose:
NBC Sports has strategic relationships with the major governing bodies in golf that involves producing and publishing content on the official digital platforms. The Director of Digital Content will be responsible for the on-brand and on-strategy development and execution of event-specific content plans (editorial and video) for these dynamic partnerships. This position will play a key role in overseeing the content collaboration between strategic golf partners, NBC Sports and freelancers. Additionally, the Director of Content will contribute timely and relevant content to branded platforms like NBCSports.com, GolfChannel.com and NBC Sports Gold.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute clear event-specific content programming plans and timelines that incorporate original video, highlights, stats, social media and editorial
  • Oversee collaborativecontent partner relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ensure content reflects each event's brand identity and upholds the high standards of NBC Sports and strategic partners
  • Interface with sales teams on content franchises and packaging opportunities for sponsors
  • Manage video and editorial submission and publishing through global content management and video content management systems (CMS, VCMS)
  • Manage direct resources, shared NBC Sports content resources and freelance contributors
  • Manage event operations including hiring freelancers, lodging, credential and transportation
  • Actively research endemic competitive and ancillary digital sports strategies and products
  • Act as liaison for other non-owned and operated platforms and look for content sharing opportunities


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum seven (7) years' of content experience
  • Experience working with professional sports organizations
  • Technical proficiency with content/video production tools and digital content management systems
  • Proven history of developing quality content targeted for site, app and social distribution
  • Ability to direct video, editorial, data-driven and social content plans
  • Experience managing on-site operations for live event digital production
  • Knowledge and direct experience working in dynamic content management systems
  • Experience in linear and digital production and aware of the nuances in content, workflows, technology and strategies
  • Ability to manage and understand complex media partnerships
  • Deep understanding of professional, amateur and team golf
  • Experience in managing cross functional teams

  • Ability for flexible work schedule, especially during championship events including working nights, weekends and travel for 7 - 10 day period
