Job Description:

The Paralympic International Games department is a mission-driven, task-oriented, fast-paced, improvement-seeking team who serves as the liaison (information and communication hub) for the National Governing Bodies (NGBs)/High Performance Management Organizations (HPMOs). Paralympic IG also works directly with the Organizing Committee of the Games to ensure that the needs of the NGBs/HPMOs competing in the Paralympic Games are met to the best of our abilities so athletes can fulfill their dreams. Each step in planning is essential to successfully achieving our department mission, to “Enhance Team USA’s National Paralympic Committee (NPC) preparation +1% so athletes can fulfill their dreams.”
The Paralympic International Games team is looking for a well-rounded intern who will play a contributing role in the administration of day-to-day projects from June through August 2017. The intern will report to the Paralympic International Games Coordinator.

The ideal Paralympic International Games intern is someone who can have fun diving into the details and working on the day-to-day tasks while understanding the importance of relationship building. A successful intern should be able to manage the ebbs and flows of our workload gaining the foresight to anticipate the next influx and taking the necessary steps to prepare. This intern will be someone who can bring a fresh perspective to the table while displaying a strong desire to learn. They will represent themselves and the team professionally and exude enjoyment and passion for the Paralympic Movement.

Functions may include but certainly are not limited to:

Paralympic Data Management

• Games Data Entry
• Organization of electronic information
• Compiling Games specific deadlines
• Research of Games specific information

Paralympic International Games Warehouse Management

• Assist in inventory management and supplies replenishment
• Assist in submitting and receiving apparel orders

Travel Coordination

• Coordinate department travel to include making flight arrangements, reserving hotels, coordinating transportation and other miscellaneous travel requests

Perform other duties as assigned

• Detail oriented and good logistical skills – special attention to quality control
• Exemplary organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong customer service skills

Education & Experience:

• Must be enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in related field of study
• Previous experience in database management, preferred
• Volunteer work and community involvement preferred

Licensure & Certification:

• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid passport
• Standard Office Equipment
• Microsoft Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook
• Proficiency with internet search capabilities and usage telecommunications equipment, fax machine, copier
* Non-traditional work hours including weekends and holidays


Bachelors or better in Sport Management or related field.


2 years: Enrolled in a Bachelor degree program at the junior or senior level status, enrolled in a Master degree program, or within 6 months to a year after graduation from a Bachelor or Masters program
