Job Description:

The Seattle Y has an opening for a Branch Executive at our Meredith Mathews East Madison (MMEM) branch. As a part of our leadership team, you will play an integral role in defining, developing, and executing strategic and tactical direction to achieve branch business and mission objectives. We’re looking for a seasoned professional with the ability to build strong, collaborative partnerships throughout the organization while leading an extraordinary branch team.
For more than 80 years, the MMEM Y has been a proud part of a vibrant community. Situated in a historically African-American and Jewish neighborhood and adjacent to the LGBT center of Seattle, the MMEM Y is a second home to a diverse membership base and staff team. In 2016, the MMEM staff and board and developed a new strategic plan that places issues of social justice/responsibility at the center of the branches’ focus.
The MMEM Y is home to a wide range of programming including youth mentoring and after school programs in local high schools and middle schools; college and career readiness programs; and education support services at local elementary and middle schools dedicated to ensuring our most vulnerable youth will succeed in school. Our healthy living programs are focused on improving not only the health of our members but striving to ensure access to health services in our community. This includes educating parents about the negative effects of poor nutrition and inactivity as well as connecting members to tools and resources to help them avoid chronic diseases.
The MMEM Y is a 26,000 square foot facility that had a $500K renovation in 2016. We are made up of over 2,700 membership units, 2,100 program participants, 90 staff members, 215 volunteers, and 12 active and engaged volunteer board members.
Reporting to our Central Regional Executive, you will be responsible for providing vision and leadership for all branch operations including membership, marketing, programming, local fundraising efforts, board, volunteer and community relations, financial management, and other assigned areas.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:


• Bachelor’s degree in business, human services, wellness or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of management experience in positions of increasing responsibility, preferably in a YMCA of other not-for-profit agency.
• Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
• Proven record of hiring and developing a diverse staff team.
• Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, adept at successfully building internal and external relationships.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with diverse organizations.
• Innovative thinker and creative problem solver with a willingness and proven ability to challenge the status quo.
• Ability to be flexible, self-motivated and positive, and to respond to the dynamics of a changing environment.
• Ability to build, inspire, motivate, and lead a team toward success.

Essential Functions
Specific Objectives:


• Develops, directs, and monitors high quality programs which support branch and Association mission, goals, and strategies.
• Directs strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
• Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch.
• Directs the financial development activities of the branch - $175,000 annual campaign.
• Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
• Develops, implements and manages the financial plan of the branch - $4.3M operating budget.
• Develops, directs and monitors high quality services for YMCA members.
• Ensures the safety and maintenance of high quality facilities and equipment.
• Oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
