Youth Academy Program Coordinator

Position Summary: Orlando City Youth Soccer Club (OCYSC) academy teams participate in SRPL, FSPL, FPL, Region B and/or GCF. This position oversees all girls and boys 11v11 formatted teams within these leagues. As Central Florida’s leading program for developing players, the Program Coordinator assists the Technical Director in all facets of program management, player and coach development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Coordinate with the Technical Director on all club activities including development of club teams, coaches, players and strategic growth.
•Ensure program is operating according to OCYSC mission, vision and values.
•Oversee OCYSC academy purple, white and gold level teams.
•Hiring of all 1099 independent coaching staff with Technical Director.
•Observe and evaluate practice sessions and home games.
•Educate, develop and give a positive soccer experience to all players/families.
•Declare teams in appropriate level leagues.
•Ensure OCYSC is represented at league meetings.
•Educate and develop coaches, monitor and perform annual performance review with Technical Director.
•Work with Junior Academy Program Coordinator
•Ensure regular communication occurs with players and families.
•Where necessary manage and resolve conflicts that arise with players, families and coaches.
•Coordinate and execute tryouts and team formation.
•Monitor all players’ registrations for all teams.
•Advise players on collegiate placement and educate players and families on process.
•Attend tournament & showcase events to assist with college placement.
•Player placement to PDP, Training Center, Youth National teams, Generation Adidas etc.
•Maintain and cultivate relationships with club, league, collegiate and association representatives.
•Proactive communication with players, families and collegiate coaches.
•Attend club’s games to scout and identify new players and coaches.
•Represent Orlando City at meetings, public events and in our community.
•Provide content for website and news.
•Deliver club playing styles and expectations of player development through the Academy.
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in youth soccer.
•Must possess minimum of USSF C License.
•Proven experience and success in collegiate recruiting and understanding of youth to college pathway.
•Demonstrated ability to teach techniques, tactics, physical and psychological components of soccer.
•Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and educate youth players and coaches.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Embrace change and adopt Orlando City style and philosophy and ensure coaches follow curriculum.
•Strong organizational and personnel management skills.
•Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
•Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task effectively.
•Knowledge of professional sports team operations, public relations, and/or sponsor relations preferred.
•Degree from accredited university in a physical education, natural science or sport management field preferred.
•Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
