The Director of Marketing will oversee all aspects of marketing strategy and communications for one or more of the following ESPN properties: College Football/ College Football Playoff, SportsCenter and additional ESPN Properties, for example, but not limited to: First Take, Pardon the Interruption, E:60, Around the Horn, Outside of the Lines and SportsNation. There are two Director of Marketing vacancies, reporting into the same manager with separate property assignments. Responsibilities include brand-building, delivering annual marketing plans and leading the delivery of business results with cross-functional teams. The Director leads a team of marketing professionals and agencies to deliver world-class creative across TV, digital, mobile, print, OOH, grassroots, and Social channels. This role is responsible for developing and inspiring a team of marketers, as well as building strong collaborative relationships with colleagues across many different departments and business partners. Provide thought leadership and develop market insights to ensure strategies and plans are as consistent as possible across all geographies and are highly resonant with consumers at a local level. The ideal candidate will work on and alongside content partners to execute innovative and ambitious storytelling experiences from start to finish.
•Develop the brand and business strategy to drive all elements of the SportsCenter/ First Take or College Football/College Football Playoff business plan.
•Conduct rigorous overall business and consumer/customer analysis.
•Lead the discovery of new fan and consumer insights, translate these insights into key brand and innovation initiatives.
•Accountable for viewership and usage for TV and/or digital ESPN properties to achieve the highest possible ratings and digital consumption within the stated target audience.
•Lead the day-to-day creative development process with advertising agencies, in-house creative services and/or other related marketing resources to deliver world-class creative across the entire media-mix.
•Applies ingenuity, creativity, analytical and organizational skills to identify and evaluate marketing strategies and tactics.
•Oversight of budget and cost management for properties that he/she leads.
•Responsible for driving marketing innovation and forming strategic alliances with external partners to deliver content across channels including mobile, social, digital, experiential and any other new medias.
•Ability to translate the Brand Strategy to drive revenue
•Drive collaboration between Marketing and teams across the company.
•Serve as primary Marketing stakeholder and key strategic business partner to various internal and external constituents including ESPN Programming, Production, Ad Sales, Affiliate Marketing, and Corporate Communications.

•Depending on the area of responsibility:
◦SportsCenter, First Take, Pardon the Interruption, E:60, Around the Horn, Outside of the Lines and SportsNation leadership specific:
◾Develop brand strategy and identify new and innovative marketing opportunities available to SportsCenter, First Take, and other key ESPN Original Studio Programming utilizing a wider context of the marketplace with an eye towards the future fan.
◦College Football and College Football Playoff leadership specific:
◾Lead companywide brand effort and collaboration behind the College Football Playoff and full slate of College Football rights to help fully realize the significant investment behind the property.
•7+ years of Marketing/Advertising experience with at least 5+ years of people management.
•Self-starter with a passion for both data and conceptual-driven creative strategy
•Excellent consultative and relationship-building skills working with senior-level cross-functional business leaders
•Strategic mindset with a strong desire to innovate to enhance our brand to our fans
•Knowledge and ability to read and translate advertising and research data
•Ability to identify and translate criteria of successful brand strategy and execution.

•Previous experience in brand management. Skills in brand positioning and a passion for Marketing and Advertising.
