Job Description:

Anthony Travel is looking for an Event Manager within our Collegiate events team in Dallas, Texas. This role is primarily responsible for overall event business operations with our university partners. Key characteristics that this individual must possess include a strong desire to help people, strategic decision-making ability, organizational abilities, leadership abilities, as well as strong communication and customer service skills. This person must also have the ability to formulate and implement procedures, as well as the ability to teach and lead staff.

Relevant experience preferred with: Event Operations, Sports, Relationship Management, and Travel.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage key client relationships
o Maintain regular contact with university partners to develop strategies for upcoming events
o Identify specific needs and expectations
o Identify and implement specific procedures to assure success
• Develop event packages and other sales offerings
• Follow specific event procedures (marketing, sales, on-site)
• Complete hotel contract negotiations to ensure Anthony Travel is receiving the best available rates in the market
• Manage inventory blocks to minimize risk and maximize revenue to company
• Situation analysis and decision making
• Creative problem solving
• Train staff on events
• Implement operational efficiencies including current process evaluation for continued improvement
• Build event budgets and measure event results
• Develop incentive programs for team members and clients
• Partner with Marketing team for event materials and promotion
• Assist in post-event sales analysis, reconciliation, and client reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Two to three years of professional experience is required
• Past experience within the travel or sports industry is preferred
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral
• This individual should also be sports-oriented, demonstrate a desire to learn and grow, and offer ideas and suggestions to streamline event processes
• This position will require travel, including weekends and holidays
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• A proven track record of successful relationship building and maintenance
• Working knowledge of financial statements and forecast/budgets
• A proven track record of recognizing your employees with energy, enthusiasm and creativity
