THE JOB / Account Manager

Octagon Hospitality creates hospitality programs for some of the most interesting and dynamic clients in the world: from small intimate and unique programs to large global multi-dimensional events. As such, the right person for this role will have hospitality event experience, but also enjoy selling in programs, creating custom hospitality experiences, have imagination, curiosity and creativity. As an Account Manager on our Hospitality team, you will balance creativity with the necessary management tasks critical to a successful Hospitality event.

As part of a team, the Account Manager will lead and manage multiple client hospitality projects at various high profile events across the country for a variety of clients. You will execute custom hospitality events, plan and manage private events and sell in new projects. Principal responsibilities include pre-event concept planning and presentation, budgeting, online registration management, on-site staffing, post-event communication and reporting, and staff management. Other responsibilities include day-to-day administration and organization of additional programs as needed. Working closely with the Group Director, and team this person will act as onsite lead for program activation and manage one to possibly two direct reports.

  • Coach, manage and mentor one direct report
  • Lead event concept and logistics planning
  • On-site activation for various hospitality programs
  • Manage online guest registration system and database (including content creation)
  • Develop personalized itineraries for various events (i.e., golf, football, entertainment)
  • Manage all weekly status calls and other key meetings with both internal and external constituents
  • Manage all logistics to include, but not limited to, décor, lodging, transportation, food and beverage, production services, and celebrity appearances for events
  • Create and provide current status and budget reports for client usage (e.g., invitation status, golf pairings, dinners, activities, etc.)
  • Prepare and distribute event execution guides and staff implementation guides
  • Manage event results reporting and wrap-up report development
  • Manage on-site temporary staff at event activations
  • Weekend/holiday work as needed
