Job Description:

Our YMCA is very proud of the positive impact we have had in the community over the past years. The development of a new YMCA facility is critical for us to expand the number of members we are entrusted to serve. Over 22,000 pass by the Perryville Crossings daily, and our partnership with the township of Cherry Valley will provide opportunity to exercise our mission in an exceptionally livable community.
Puri Family YMCA will open as the latest chartered branch of the YMCA of Rock River Valley. Target opening for this facility is April 2017. This micro facility will serve our members daily through a variety of programs and services that address the Y's areas of focus, Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
The branch is located in a newly renovated, 15,000 square foot facility just blocks from the CherryVale Mall.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, the incoming Executive Director will lead the startup, community advocacy and operation of membership, programming and service for the branch. Immediate key deliverables of the Executive include:

• Position the branch for success in development of membership base of approximately 1,000 household units
• Recruitment, training and development of staff team, including leadership and part-time associate level positions.
• Establish volunteer development by creating the branch Community Action Council Advisory Board.
• Enhance membership value by program and service offerings that will address the needs of the Cherry Valley Community
• Develop and manage operating budget that aligns with the Y's Strategic objectives, accounting for growth in contributions, membership and program revenue.

The qualified candidate will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in human services, education, social services, business, or a related field. Candidates should demonstrate a successful track record in business management of a non-profit, including 5+ years of demonstrated success in program management, volunteer recruitment, fund development, employee engagement and fiscal management. The incumbent will also demonstrate success in a fostering collaborations and partnership with community organizations.

Essential Functions

• Coordinates development of the Branch Advisory Board
• Directs all fiscal management activities of the branch
• Leads all branch fundraising initiatives to reach annual goal and increases donor base
• Develops positive working relationships with other community organizations
• Oversees hiring, training and staff development efforts
• Develops member focused programs that support the Y’s mission and strategic goals
• Coordinates branch marketing and communication efforts
• Ensures safety, security and maintenance of high quality facilities and grounds
• Serves as member of the Y Executive team and supports overall association goals
