Job Description

The Central Coast YMCA, serving Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties in central California, is seeking a Branch Executive Director to provide cause-driven leadership for the Salinas Community YMCA. We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented leader to continue our strong tradition of successful community support campaigns while working to expand membership and enhance program services. This position will work with a six person branch leadership team and committed local volunteers to increase community visibility, involvement and impact.
The Salinas Community YMCA serves the beautiful and diverse Salinas Valley, the “salad Bowl” of the Nation. With 5,400 members and over 6,000 program participants, the Y’s purpose is to develop healthy and successful youth and families. With an operating budget of $3 million and a 46,000 square foot full facility, this Y has excellent opportunities for growth and taking on an expanded role in our community.

Qualifications

BS/BA degree in management, recreation, community development or related field; 5-years of successful experience in membership and program development, facility management, fundraising, work with policy-making volunteers, and fiscal management; outstanding relationship building skills; excellent written, verbal and personal communication skills; proficient computer skills; ability and willingness to work as a team; enthusiastic, dependable and a self-starter; understanding of and commitment to the YMCA mission and core values; even-tempered and able to adjust tasks in accordance with changing priorities. Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) preferred.

Essential Functions

Continue our strong tradition of successful community support campaigns while working to expand membership and enhance program services. Lead staff and committed local volunteers to increase community visibility, involvement and impact.
