Chill Toronto Skateboard Program - Assistant Coord

Location:

Can you effectively engage youth and work in a small team to accomplish big goals? Do you have experience prioritizing your own schedule and holding yourself accountable? If you answered yes to all of the above then we want to talk to you about being the next Chill Toronto Skateboard Program Assistant Coordinator.

What You Get to Do:

The Chill Toronto Skateboard Program Assistant Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the management and oversight of all daily operations of Chill’s Spring and Summer Skateboard programs for approximately 40-50 youth and chaperones. Programs scheduled to take place on Wednesday evenings for May through June (6 hours/week) and afternoon programs on Mondays and Wednesdays for July through August (12 hours/week).
• Facilitate programming that is consistent with Chill’s curriculum, engaging youth, volunteers & chaperones, and exceeding the standards set in the Chill Quality Assessment (CQA).
• Assist in co-teaching weekly theme lessons, skateboard instruction, and Roarockit DIY Skateboard project.
• Maintaining and tracking participant involvement in the program.
• Ensuring that all participants are properly outfitted, are receiving proper level of skateboard instruction, and are learning and advancing at a safe yet challenging pace.
• Executing daily set-up and closure tasks such as; organizing gear, assembling/disassembling modular ramps, taking inventory, equipment maintenance, etc.
• Communicate effectively with youth agencies; including agency recruitment, vetting, and managing our application process.
• Administer all program performance, agency performance, and program participant Outcomes Based Evaluations (OBE).
• Organize and maintain all program paperwork
• Assist in managing Chill Toronto’s webpage and specific social media accounts, along with contributing content to the national social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
• Secure testimonials from youth participants.

What You’ll Bring:

• Experience working with underserved youth and/or with youth in an experiential setting
• Ability to effectively work with all types of individuals, corporations, and organizations
• Exceptional communication skills
• Skateboard experience and basic understanding of skateboard equipment maintenance
• Board sport/outdoor industry knowledge a plus
