Youth Programs Assistant
Location: Metairie, LA
|Job Status: Full Time
Under direct supervision of the Director of Youth Programs, this position has multiple areas of responsibility within the Youth Programs department.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Saints/Gatorade Jr. Training Camp/PLAY60 Camp
•Travel to area elementary and junior high schools and assist with the set up and execution of football drills
•When asked, conduct a motivational speech to youth about a variety of topics such as education, goal setting, re-hydration and of course, Saints Football
•Help arrange player appearances for the program
•Assist with management of the equipment, truck, product and storage facility used to house Gatorade product and supplies
•Assist with maintaining all of the inflatables, air blowers, extension cords, and tents that are used on game day and special events (Draft Fest, Black & Gold Game, Sr. Bowl in Alabama)
•Help ensure safety procedures
•Handle all bookings of the Experience outside of game day (Birthday Parties) - this includes the transportation, set up, and supervision of the inflatable(s) at the scheduled event
Saints/United Way Community Patrol
•Oversee the camps that are conducted on the Auxillary practice field and indoor practice facility
•Pick-up and deliver lunch provided by sponsors
•Clean-up camp areas each day
NFL Player Matching Grant Program
•Assist in coordinating designated contributions by Saints player’s to youth football organizations
•Follow up paperwork to ensure the organizations have spent funds on football related items
Local execution of NFL Youth Programs (NFL FLAG, JPD, High School Coach of the Week, 7 on 7 High School Tournament, Play Football Month, all USA FOOTBALL initiatives including Heads Up Football promotion)
•Assist with expansion of JPD program into other locations in our region (Northshore, Gretna, and Mississippi)
•Visit and service (Gatorade) select JPD sites weekly.
•Support implementation of high school player development programs in the Gulf South Region
•Assist with NFL FLAG Leagues throughout the region
•Help organize paid NFL FLAG camps.
•Manage Youth Football Task Force
•Travel to local high schools for NFL High School Coach of the Week presentations - video footage of the presentation and practice is taken so we may also recognize the selected coach on our website
•Manage the expansion of Heads Up Football in AL, LA and MS high schools
•Coordinate Parent/ Player Safety Clinics in the region along with youth and high school coaches certification clinics
•Help with all Saints youth promotions including Jr. Captain of the Week, Jr. Tee Retriever, Job Shadow program, Cash Catch, etc.
•Acquire all necessary information and create collectible player trading card series
Skills and Attributes

•Professional appearance and telephone manner is essential
•Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and general knowledge of the internet
•High attention to detail and accuracy

•Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment while being exposed to sensitive and confidential information
•Ability to adapt to seasonality and high profile nature of the football industry
College degree preferred with concentration of study in sports administration, education, and/or business.
Occasional heavy lifting
Full Time; Requires weekend and game-day hours as well
