YOUTH TRAININGS PROGRAMS INFORMATION:
The Red Bulls Training Program is a multi-layered system that provides professional support at all levels of the game. Each level of the player development pyramid has been structured to provide extensive support to players, coaches and youth soccer organizations. Within the local community, programs are offered for players of all ages and abilities. For players with outstanding ability, there is an opportunity to progress to the academy level and ultimately, to the Red Bulls First Team.
POSITION PURPOSE: (Position summary)
The primary responsibility of the Coach Education Manager of New Jersey is to provide daily training and education to Youth Training Programs coaching staff and Regional Coordinators, directly supervising performance and quality for over 75 staff. The role will involve mentoring the Regional Coordinators and assisting the Manager of Recruitment in year round youth coach recruitment events, staffing and on-boarding education. Additional responsibilities will include the development of curriculum content, management of external education relationships, player assessment/observation tools, online education platforms, training videos and social media outreach. The candidate will also work closely with the Regional Development Schools to ensure ongoing player development clarity and education suitable for the RDS programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)
•Direct education and management of coaching staff to ensure that the organization is represented effectively and consistently within the local youth soccer market.
•Development of coaching staff and regional coordinators to ensure they are fully educated in the club’s curriculum, philosophy and methodology
•Create an annual coach education training plan that provides coaching staff with required job knowledge. This includes all on field training sessions plus off field content such as the Red Bulls training philosophy, effective session planning, risk management, player welfare and club management strategies.
•Proposing and executing procedures, programs and technologies that maximum effectiveness of coach education, player development and assessment tools.
•Research and manage relationships with outside coach educators. Ongoing coach education training plans should include a wide range of guest presenter form various player development disciplines.
•Coordination and deliver seasonal and orientations and weekly training events
•Where required, create individual coach improvement programs to address shortfalls in staff performance.
•Ongoing assessment and mentoring of youth coaching staff, this includes regular field assessments and educational support to help in the professional development of all coaching staff.
•Resolve conflict and effectively and professionally implement company discipline policies.
•Continued development of training programs technical guidelines and curriculum content to ensure it remains at the cutting edge of the youth soccer market.
•Assist in the recruitment of all part-time coaching staff. This includes actively assessing non Red Bull staff in the community and effectively recruiting qualified staff to our programs.
•Management of key player development partners.
•Assist in the development of an annual operating budget.
•Ability to contribute to the overall development of the Youth Training Programs infrastructure
•Provide support and work closely with Regional Managers to ensure regional coaching staff are delivering coaching sessions in-line with the organizations player development philosophy.
•The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities
•Bachelor’s degree, preferred in sports management field
•Preferred USSF B License, NSCAA Premier Diploma or International Equivalent
• Required five (5) years comparable experience working within US youth soccer as a coach, coach educator and coach recruiter.
•In-depth technical understanding of modern day player and coach development concepts and trends.
•Leadership abilities and strong desire to help educate coaches
•The candidate must demonstrate a proven ability to manage, educate, assess and develop professional youth coaches.
•Individual must be able to manage multiple roles, priorities and responsibilities simultaneously.
•Proficiency with all Microsoft word applications.
•Excellent administrative skills
•Strong communicator and proven ability to deliver training session to large audience
•Excellent Writing Skills
•Collaborative management style – advocate of team concepts
•Must be able to work long hours, weekends and some holidays.
•Must be able to travel locally and to various national coaching events and conventions
