Account Trainee- Luxury Automotive, Eastern Region, Marketing

THE JOB / Account Trainee

This is a position within the Octagon Marketing Trainee Program. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to assist with event planning and activations for a luxury automotive client throughout the Eastern Region. Potential responsibilities include pre-event planning, event set-up and market/on-site activation execution, post-event analysis, vehicle logistics and transportation, competitive research and managing administrative documents.

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn: account management, client engagement, event planning, on-site logistics and event activation/operation skills to be able to successfully engage with consumers and fans. The right candidate will be able to work as part of a large team and will interface with: internal divisions, client partners and vendors. Strong team dynamic skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required for this position. Frequent travel on weekends, evenings and some holiday work may also be required.


  • Provide support to the Experiential Event team by helping develop, manage and execute key program elements
  • Work with the Account Team to manage event execution details
  • Manage inventory of event execution elements
  • Assist in development of pre-event documents, wrap up reports and weekly event reviews
  • Managing documents such as status reports, tracking documents and meeting notes
  • Tracking expenses and internal processing of invoices
  • Provide administrative support as necessary
  • Travel on weekends and during non-traditional hours as required
  • Other tasks as reasonably required



•You have a passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
•Bachelor’s degree in a related field
•0-1+ years of relevant internship/work or internship experience in the communications, automotive or marketing industries
•Previous event marketing experience a strong plus
•Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
•Experienced leader and team builder, who has demonstrated initiative and independent problem solving skills
•Capacity to become knowledgeable on our clients’ industry, brand and product offering
•Strong ability to work as part of a team
•Ability to be customer and client-facing
•Willingness to work weekends and nonstandard hours
•Strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills a must
•Reliable vehicle, clean driving record and valid driver’s license
•Must be at least 21 years of age
