Job Description:

As our Footlocker Associate Merchant you will be responsible for creating Consumer Right Assortments (CRA’s) for the Young Athletes Footwear Assortments that express the cross-category vision in the marketplace. You will assist in driving the communication related to the CRA’s to all stakeholders to ensure a consistent premium consumer experience. You’ll be accountable with managing the assortments in system, understand sales data, consumer and marketplace knowledge. You will participate in marketplace segmentation and assortment planning for your account business. You will partner with other cross-category merchants, category merchants Category and account sales partners and planning partners.

As an independent, detail-oriented self-starter, you will navigate the cross-functional Geography Nike matrix, building strong relationships with all cross functional partners to land your account CRA’s.

As part of the Merchandising team you will be part of all the key team and account meetings and will be invited to participate actively in all functional discussions. To develop some of the key Merchandising competencies you will be mentored by senior merchants on the Footlocker team.

You will support the Merchandising team in providing analysis on the consumer, market-place and competitive trends in the young athletes business. In addition, you will help drive alignment with cross-functional partners on these assortments.

Knowledge of Nike processes or the wholesale marketplace is helpful, but not a must.

Requirements for the position include:

•Bachelor's degree, in Business, Merchandising, Product, Marketing or a related fiel
•Minimum 2 years' relevant work experience, preferably in Retail or product/merchandising
•Additional 2 years' work experience required in lieu of a degree
•Strong communication, interpersonal skills, business orientation, computer skills and ability to work cross-functionally
•Strong information-seeking skills and a drive to make things happen; ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, provide a point of view and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management; solves complex problems, takes a new perspective using both existing solutions and takes initiative to create new solutions
•An understanding of basic Nike's merchandising principles would be a plus
•This person must be highly organized and able to manage his/her schedule to hit critical deadlines within the over-lapping multi-season Category Game Plan calendar.
•Skill with process documentation applications, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. And quick learner of new IT Merch tools like AV
