Nathan Benderson Park (NBP, the Park) is a national destination in the rowing community and an iconic attraction for rowing enthusiasts of all ages. Named after Nathan Benderson, who envisioned a community-integrated park where residents could fish and unwind, the park has transformed from a borrow pit in the early 1990s into a realization of his vision. NBP now features a 600-acre public park, 2000-meter sprint course, aquatic sports site, and community programming.

Nathan Benderson Park Conservancy, Inc. (the Conservancy) is the is the 501(c)3 not-for-profit that manages NBP. NBP’s ambitious vision is to expand its world-class rowing facilities and presence as a multipurpose event site. To complement its facilities, NBP oversees community outreach and programming that promote the health and wellness of the Suncoast community.

The Conservancy seeks a visionary and entrepreneurial Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with a demonstrated success in implementing a vision and high-level management and development skills to lead and direct activities in support of the Park. The CEO will establish an appropriate balance between revenue and capacity-building initiatives in order to achieve mission-driven growth and transformation. The CEO will secure resources for support of ongoing operations and new initiatives, capital, and programs.

The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated mastery of strategic planning and implementation. S/he will have extensive leadership experience in sports and event programming, marketing, branding, community relations, fundraising, business partnerships and board development. The CEO will be an inspiring and pragmatic leader who can generate innovative ideas as well as empower, support and inspire accountability in the team achieving NBP’s goals.
