Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach

The Assistant Womens Volleyball Coach reports to the Head Womens Volleyball Coach and will be responsible for the training, development and preparation of the volleyball student-athletes so that they are able to compete at an elite level. The position will also be responsible for assisting in recruiting, fund-raising, budget formulation, analysis, and the overall management/leadership of the Womens Volleyball Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Assist the head coach in individual and team training. Have successfully demonstrated the ability to develop technique and systems within a collegiate volleyball program.
  • Develop a comprehensive plan to educate the student-athlete in quality decision-making, the value of teamwork and cooperation, and setting/meeting goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge and ability to coordinate and manage Data Volley, Data Video, and various video hardware and software.
  • Demonstrate the aptitude and skills sets necessary to translate statistical and video analysis to individual and team systems.
  • Must be fully knowledgeable and adhere to all rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference (as applicable) and Northwestern University.
  • Work with NUDAR staff in preparing for all home matches.
  • Cooperate with the marketing and promotions department in publicizing and marketing the Northwestern Volleyball Program, the booster club.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop precise and accurate scouting reports.
  • Coordinate facility scheduling and summer camps.
  • Organized and professional in all office matters.
  • Assist in recruiting for the volleyball program; identify and contact qualified prospective student-athletes; continue building quality relationships within the volleyball community.
  • Assist in the implementation of a system of recruiting that is productive and adaptable to all situations.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.
  • Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree.
  2. Willingness and ability to work, as well as travel, mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  3. Experience developing, coordinating and managing collegiate clinics, camps and fundraising events preferred.
  4. Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred.
  5. Ability to work cooperatively with others and effectively interact with diverse populations
  6. 3+ years coaching at the division 1 or comparable elite level experience- preferred.
