Job Title Research Associate Health & Kinesiology Department School of Health and Kinesiology Essential Functions
The Sports Medicine and Biomechanics Lab, a collaboration between faculty in the School of Health and Kinesiology and Department of Biomechanics at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate Sport Scientist with a start date in July 2025. This position is a 12-month position. This position will provide support to Omaha Athletics under the supervision of the co-directors of the Sports Medicine and Biomechanics Lab (Drs. Brian Knarr, Adam Rosen, and Sam Wilkins). Under the supervision of the academic faculty, this position will support Omaha Athletics and their student athletes. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a sport science background to support our athletic teams through research, data analysis, and performance optimization. This role will focus on integrating data from various sources, developing tools and reports, and applying evidence-based strategies to enhance athletic performance and injury risk mitigation.
The ideal candidate will:
- Conduct research and performance analyses to support athlete health, performance, and
recovery.
- Collect, integrate, and interpret data from multiple teams and performance domains.
- Develop and maintain tools, dashboards, and reports for data visualization and analysis.
- Collaborate with coaching staff, athletic trainers, and strength and conditioning professionals to
transform data into actionable insights.
- Monitor workload, biomechanics, and physiological indicators to inform and refine training
strategies.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with privacy and ethical standards.
- Supervise and mentor student researchers.
- Support dissemination of findings through publications and presentations; assist with grant writing.
- Perform analysis using platforms such as Catapult and VALD.
- Work closely with coaching staff and strength and conditioning coaches to inform program
development using integrated data.
- Provide support for a variety of Omaha athletic teams as directed by the Director of Athletics
and the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Performance.

Work Schedule Varies Additional Duties Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree in kinesiology, biomechanics, sport science, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Clinical or field experience working with sports.
