Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.\nA starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations\n

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this\nclassification exists is to provide direction and management to program and\noperational oversight of assigned facilities. The work responsibilities include\nplanning, coordinating, and executing large-scale sports and entertainment\nevents, ensuring optimal facility use, budget management, contract\nnegotiations, and risk management. The role requires strategic oversight of\nvenue operations, budget management, contract negotiations, risk management,\nand the development of partnerships with key stakeholders, including event\norganizers, sponsors, and community groups, while fostering community\nengagement, developing partnerships, and ensuring compliance with safety\nregulations while enhancing the city's reputation as a premier event\ndestination. The position reports to the Director of Parks & Recreation.\n

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business\nAdministration, Finance, Sports Management, Hospitality Management, Public\nAdministration, Facility Management, or a related field, and five (5) years of\nexperience in event management, facility operations, sports venue management,\nor business development. Experience overseeing large-scale public events and\nmulti-purpose venues is preferred. An MBA or relevant advanced degree or\nprofessional certification (e.g., Certified Venue Executive, Certified Sports\nEvent Executive, Facility Management Professional, Certified Property Manager)\nis a plus.\n\n\nNOTE: Qualifying education, training, and\nexperience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to\nperform the job will be considered.\n\n

Special Requirements

Ability\nto work irregular hours for overseeing city events, work indoors and outdoors\nduring all types of weather conditions, to walk, stand, and/or maneuver around\nfacilities for long periods.\n

Kind of Examination
