Director of Soccer, Technical Skills

Job Description:
Job Duties: Responsible for leading the club from a grassroots, recreational club to an Academy Development Club, focusing on the development of the grassroots soccer community in Northern Virginia. Lead the clubs transition to an academy development, focused on providing all players in the club the same level of training. Implement a Club Centric-Training Curriculum to be followed by all trainers and Volunteer Trainers. Develop a training curriculum, build a training library with hundreds of training sessions; lead the development of skills and technical abilities the club players and work with coaches to establish a set of minimum requirements that each player must have after joining programs. Oversee the technical coaching staff and perform technical evaluation on coaches and instructors. Group and cluster training modules into age and skill appropriate modules to be followed by coaches. Teach coaches, assist. Coaches, and managers how to implement the training curriculum. Supervise, review and reinforce the Training Curriculum and club methodology. Monitor our top talent of players and develop different competitive events. Work with DC United and other Professional Academies to place Sterling Players at professional Academies. Work with the President and Age Group Coordinators to select annual tournaments to compete in as a club or individual teams. Create a club identity, methodology and soccer curriculum to develop the clubs style of play and bring training consistency among all paid and volunteer coaches. Build the annual Technical Plan and methodology that aligns with the development plan and values of our club. Help design player development programs across our Rec and Travel programs and align on development paths for our club. Manage the paid Travel coaches and conduct periodic performance reviews throughout the year. Work with the Rec Soccer Committee Leaders to evaluate Rec training modules and methodology.

Job Requirements:
Requirements: Must have at least five (5) years of experience as a Head Soccer Coach, Technical Director, Director of Soccer, Sports Director, or closely related field. Must have minimum 5 years of experience developing training curriculums for youth soccer development. Must have in-depth knowledge of soccer club management, competition structures and best practices, as evidence by 5 years of experience. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing relationships with clubs, teams, and stakeholders, as evidenced by 5 years of experience. Must have proven leadership experience with the ability to manage staff, trainers, and volunteers effectively, as evidenced by 5 years of experience. Must hold at least one (1) of the following licenses: US Soccer Pro, A or B License, UEFA Pro, A or B License or CONMEBOL Pro, A or B License.
