Job Description

Job Title: Social Media Content Lead
Company: Fast-Growing Sports Media Startup (Stealth Mode)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based)
Position Type: Part-Time Contract (20 hours/week, with potential for full-time)

About Us:
We’re a new social media content startup in stealth mode—dedicated to delivering high-impact sports content through short-form video. Our focus is on Division I women’s volleyball. We’ve secured media rights across multiple leagues / conferences and are preparing to launch daily highlight-driven coverage across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X. If you're passionate about sports (specifically women’s volleyball!), social media, and startups, this is an opportunity to help shape something from the ground up.

Role Overview:
We’re hiring a hands-on, creative, and strategic Social Media Content Lead to help us bring our vision to life. You’ll shape and execute content across platforms, collaborate with our small team (editor + founder), and play a pivotal role in building our brand and reach.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead day-to-day and long-term content strategy for all social media channels
  • Write sharp, engaging copy and captions that connect with our target audience
  • Provide direction and feedback to our video editor on content revisions
  • Publish content across all major platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, etc.)
  • Track post performance and recommend ways to optimize reach and engagement
  • Maintain an organized archive of published content and internal recaps
  • Identify and help implement tools or workflows to streamline content creation and publishing

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field
  • Proven success building an audience or brand on social media—especially in sports or youth culture
  • Strong familiarity with all major platforms and their posting strategies
  • Passion for women’s volleyball and an understanding of the sport’s culture and audience
  • Ability to create simple graphics or thumbnails when needed
  • Comfortable using tools like Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong work ethic, adaptability, and a “figure it out” mentality
  • Enjoys both fast-paced environments and solo focus time (you’ll need both!)
  • Willing to sift through long video files to find top highlight-worthy moments

Compensation:
Hourly compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
This is a contract-based, part-time role (20 hours/week) with strong potential to grow into a full-time opportunity with benefits.
