The Head Coach will be responsible for all phases and strong leadership in managing a competitive and thriving NCAA division III Womens Basketball program. The ability to coach and teach all aspects of basketball provide leadership and mentor student-athletes, a strong recruiter and have the ability to evaluate talent and potential, are essential skills. Administrative and operational duties such as arrange travel, manage budget, and develop alumni contacts and fund-raising are also essential duties of the Head Coach. Supervision of an assistant coach is also an important role. The addition of a secondary responsibility will be included. The Head Coach must also embrace the department mission of supporting the academic mission of the university, developing student-athletes as contributors to the greater community, creating opportunities for competitive success, leading student-athletes to understand what it is like to be part of something greater than oneself.

Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree.
Demonstrated coaching experience with measurable success.
Relevant coaching experience at the collegiate level
Successful recruiting experience at the college or university level.
Familiarity in recruiting collegiate student-athletes with ability to identify and attract outstanding students and players.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Student-centered focus.
CPR, First Aid and AED Certification is required (and can be completed after hire).
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree.
Ability to articulate the role that athletics plays in a rigorous academic collegiate setting and the importance of academic endeavors of student athletes.
Successful coaching experience at the college or university level.
Experience exhibiting the highest standards of professional and ethical behavior and adhering to all rules and regulations of Ohio Wesleyan University, the North Coast Athletic Conference, and the NCAA.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Experience advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion, and supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to actively foster a respectful, positive environment that welcomes all persons.
An appreciation for and willingness to engage with the mission and aims of OWU.
