The Medallion Club , a premier private golf facility located in Westerville, Ohio , is seeking a highly qualified and service- oriented Head Golf Professional to lead its golf operations. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and passionate leader dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience for Members and guests. This role is responsible for overseeing all facets of the golf department, including tournament management, merchandising, instructional programming, and staff supervision. The position will remain open until the most qualified candidate is selected.
- PGA Member in good standing (required)
5+ years of experience as a Head Golf Professional or senior-level Assistant Professional - Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proficient in golf operations software and tournament management systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Golf Management, or a related field preferred
Essential Responsibilities
Golf Operations & Member Engagement
- Direct and manage daily golf operations, including tee time management, member services, and tournament programming.
- Serve as the primary contact for all golf-related member services.
- Lead the planning and execution of all Club tournaments and outings.
- Provide private and group golf instruction as time permits.
- Collaborate with golf committees and Club leadership to build a successful golf calendar.
Retail & Merchandising
- Oversee all golf shop operations, including merchandise purchasing, sales, visual presentation, and inventory control.
- Maintain vendor relationships and ensure alignment with Club buying programs.
- Drive retail sales and track performance against budgeted targets.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and supervise Assistant Golf Professionals, Golf Shop Attendants, and Outside Services personnel.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on excellence in service and professionalism.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and performance evaluations.
Budgeting & Financial Management
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets for golf operations and the golf shop.
- Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to meet or exceed budget goals.
- Ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with Club standards.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Work closely with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Membership Director, Catering Director, and Golf Course Superintendent.
- Support Club-wide initiatives and contribute to overall member satisfaction.
Professional Involvement
- Maintain PGA membership in good standing and participate in section and regional PGA events.
- Represent The Medallion Club in a professional manner at external functions, with the approval of the General Manager.
