The Golf Club at Lansdowne has 45 holes of golf open to members and overnight guests of the resort. Our complex features an expansive double-sided driving range with adjacent short-game areas and putting greens. The Golf Club at Lansdowne is excited to announce the career opportunity of a Head Golf Professional. The Head Golf Professional will work closely with the Director of Golf and other members of the professional golf staff to provide top of the line service to members and guest. They will be involved in all aspects of the golf operation which include, day to day operations, tournament operations, staff management, and much more.
- Class A PGA Member in good standing. College Degree.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with members, guests and staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, make decisions under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of service.
- Experience managing day to day operations.
- Experience managing a team of golf professionals, outside staff, starters and shop staff.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Excellent mentoring, training and supervisory skills.
- Experience in organizing, promoting and executing high level member tournaments.
- Proficient in computer applications and software like Microsoft Office, Golf Genius, and Jonas.
- In-depth knowledge of golf, rules, and etiquette
- Oversee and manage day to day operations at a high level. These areas include the golf shop, outside services, driving range, locker rooms, bag storage, 45 holes of golf and golf cart fleet (150 carts)
- Plan, promote, execute high level member events that include Men’s Golf Association events, Ladies Golf Association events, and Club events.
- Hire, train, mentor, supervise and elevate golf staff including assistant golf professionals, supervisors, starters, golf shop staff, and outside services personnel
- Enforce golf course policies and procedures to maintain safety, pace of play, and quality standards.
- Manage Jonas tee sheet reservation system and Golf Genius Tournament Software.
- Provide excellent customer service, professional advice, and assistance to all members and guests. Maintain a visible and approachable presence. Assist with onboarding of new members.
- Attend monthly meetings such as MGA, LGA Handicap Committee and monthly staff meetings.
