Position Overview:
We are seeking a Middle School Volleyball Coach to join our team. This part-time position will begin on August 11th, and continue until November 8th, 2025for 10 to 15 hours per week (more hours may be available) and is integral to the development of our athletic program. The responsibilities of the Volleyball Coach will consist of some or all of the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Commitment to the well-being of athletes, development of Paragon Prep's athletic program, quality coaching, and continued education on best practices.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and administer the scheduling of practice and games.
- Manage equipment, uniforms, and facilities.
- Travel on the school bus to away games and practices per the season schedule.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience coaching.
- A high school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree encouraged).
- Prior playing, coaching experience, or any combination of the two in volleyball.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball, including but not limited to training and conditioning techniques, and the ability to diagnose player deficiencies and prescribe sport-related corrective activities.
The Ideal Coach Will Be Able To:
- Coach athletes of different ages and skill levels.
- Communicate effectively.
- Access and utilize technology.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, staff, administrators, students, parents, and community members.
Age Groups of Teams:
- 5/6 Grade Girls Team
- 7/8 Grade Girls Team
Practice Days/Times:
- Each age group practices 2-3 times per week
7/8 Grade Team:
- Monday: 4:00-5:30 pm
- Tuesday/Thursday: 3:00-4:30 pm
5/6 Grade Team:
- Tuesday/Thursday: 4:00-5:30 pm
Games:
- 1-2 games per week. Typical start times are between 4:00-7:30 pm on weekdays. The only weekend commitment is the end-of-season tournament on November 8th.
