Pittsburgh Penguins LP seeks a Director of Reconditioning to work in Pittsburgh, PA, and Cranberry, PA, to develop, implement, and coordinate criteria-based reconditioning programming (using RTP pathway) for injured athletes, while providing significant support in the performance therapy and foundational health areas of the model. Will also (i) define and refine assessment, profiling, programming and monitoring strategies by efficiently and effectively integrating tools, tactics, and technologies that optimize return-to-performance outcomes; (ii) implement daily movement screening protocols to proactively identify and manage developing issues; (iii) deliver performance therapy for assigned players, and lead coordination of ancillary services (chiro, massage, etc.); and (iv) assessing and managing injury and developing the return-to-play plan.

Must have a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Rehabilitation Science, Kinesiology & Health Sciences, Physical Therapy, or a related field plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position in/for professional sporting/athletic environments.

Experience must include a minimum of five (5) years with:

(i) implementing and analyzing biomechanical assessments as well as restoring gait and movement deficiencies/dysfunctions (DNS, FMS, FSMA);

(ii) implementing and interpreting key sport science technologies (force plate, groin bar, metabolic and mechanical load monitoring tools);

(iii) using an evidence-based approach to the RTP in hockey specific injury rehabilitation;

(iv) working with elite/world class athletes as well as an integrated sports team including medical doctors, athletic therapists, physical therapists, coaching and equipment staff;

(v) implementing movement screens to identify limitations in movement, identifying muscular strengths and weakness in the human kinetic chain specific to hockey, and, when identified, creating programs to help maintain playing ability;

(vi) pregame treatment;

(vii) taping and re-taping;

(viii) acute injury assessment; (ix) post-game assessment, evaluations, and treatment;

(x) recognizing, assessing, managing, and rehabilitating musculoskeletal injuries;

(xi) initiating, designing, and implementing specialized therapy programs;

(xii) referring injured patients to the appropriate specialized medical personnel;

(xiii) creating, updating, and maintaining electronic patient charts, injury, and treatment records.

Must also have the following certifications: NATA/CATA, BLS/CPR, Advanced manual therapy certifications/licenses (LMT, acupuncture); and Certified/Registered Kinesiologist.
