Description

The invites applications for an Assistant Athletic Director of Annual Giving for UM Athletics. The Assistant Director will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Grizzly Scholarship Association (GSA) and will be expected to attend Grizzly sporting events and community events both locally and statewide. This role will provide our donor base with exceptional customer service and efficient communication. You will be instrumental in supporting our goal of providing student-athlete scholarships to our Grizzly Student Athletes by building and sustaining the donor base through strategic solicitation, stewardship, and consistent engagement. This position reports to the Associate Director of the GSA.

Athletic Department employees and those University employees outside the Athletic Department with NCAA rules compliance responsibilities are subject at all times to NCAA Bylaws 10.1 and 11.1 regarding ethical conduct and the responsibility to positively contribute to a campus culture of NCAA rules compliance. Failure to conduct oneself as such will result in disciplinary or corrective action up to and including immediate discharge.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities

Partner with the Associate Director of GSA for development & implementation of the Annual Plan

Collaborate with coaches & development team to build and implement annual fundraising plans

Support execution of all athletic special events, including: Montana Wine & Beer Festival GSA Spring Tour GSA Golf Tournament Auction GSA Tailgates

Execute consistent donor outreach strategy via email, direct mail and phone calls

Conduct in-person donor engagement at least twice a week

Development & Implementation a social media plan

Assist with sports specific giving

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and one (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience in college athletics/professional sports fundraising or sales

Experience in planning and executing special events

Effective communications skills (written and oral)

Ability to establish and maintain relationships with a diverse group of constituents

Must be able to work under deadlines

Knowledge of internet and communication technologies/social media

Demonstrated record of possessing a high degree of integrity and commitment to men and women's athletics and to the values of inclusivity and diversity

Ability to demonstrate good judgment and respond quickly and professionally under pressure and in a very open and public environment

Must be able to work nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

Master's or advanced degree

Additional Information

Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, Letter of Appointment and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program.
