TITLE: Assistant Coach STATE CODE:
REPORTS TO: Head Coach and Athletic Director FSLA STATUS: Non-Exempt
This is a part-time contracted position that does not earn leave or health benefits.
EXPECTATION FOR ALL EMPLOYEES:
Supports the organization's mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, teamwork, innovation, respect, commitment to our community, accountability and ownership.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Coach will be under the direction of the Head Coach who is responsible for the oversight of the athletic program at Chino Valley High School. The functions include, but are not limited to the following:
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
Performs all duties assigned by the head coach.
Attends meetings necessary to the welfare of the team and sport.
Abides by all relevant school district policies, administrative directives, AIA rules/regulations, and league/conference rules/regulations.
Consults and communicates with the head coach regarding any player discipline/ issues, practice/game scheduling requests, parent concerns/problems, officiating concerns/problems, etc.
Plans assigned practice sessions with specific training objectives with careful considerate to athletic safety.
Demonstrates proper care of school facilities and equipment.
Ensures rules and regulations concerning conditioning of players and their health and safety.
Provides proper supervision in all situations.
Reports injuries promptly and exercises great care in dealing with all injuries.
Conducts themselves in a professional and sportsmanlike manner at all times.
Provide effective management of games and practices.
Game day preparation.
Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Must have or be able to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Card.
Must complete Mandatory Annual Training within the first 30 days of hire.
Coaching Experience preferred.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work Environment involves no physical risks or hazardous conditions
XX Work environment involves slight physical risks that require basic safety precautions (safety glasses, lab coats, rubber gloves etc.)
Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following detailed safety precautions (such as wearing respirators, handling hazardous materials, and working with industrial machinery.)
