Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach

To establish and maintain, according to the Camden Fairview School District and Camden Fairview High School,

goals and objectives that will lead to a competitive Basketball program.

Teaching Position: Health/PE

Meets and instructs assigned academic classes.Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students according to the schools mission statement.Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and - in harmony with the goals - establishes clearly objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.Employs a variety of instructional techniques and technology consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.Strives to implement, by instruction and action, the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life.Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in a fair and just manner.Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.Strives to maintain and improve professional competence by attending professional development initiatives.Attends all staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.Adheres to District, State and Arkansas Activities Association's regulations regarding eligibility of players.Actively leads and participates the coaching staff in the skill development of all players.Maintains an open line of communication with school and district administration.Helps in all aspects of the college recruiting process.Establishes a culture of respect among coaches, players, parents and community.Works directly with the booster club to enhance the overall relationship between the school staff and the school community.Communicates high expectations of all involved in the basketball program including school administration, staff, students, parents and community.Creates a culture and climate of academic and athletic success.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree minimum.

3 years minimum of coaching and 5 years preferred

Must have a valid Arkansas teacher's license.

Must meet State Department of Education requirements for coaching endorsement.

Must meet Arkansas Activities Association requirements for coaches.

Evidence of strong commitment to quality education.

Must have a Class B CDL with airbrakes and school bus endorsement, or be willing to obtain one.
