About the Opportunity
The Vice President of Sales for Chelsea Piers Connecticut is responsible for driving top line revenue growth across all business lines through a unified, strategic sales approach. This role leads the development and execution of an integrated sales strategy that aligns fitness, events, sponsorships and partnerships, and all on-site activity under a ONE TEAM philosophy, ensuring every part of the business is working together to maximize revenue and performance.
The VP of Sales serves as the central revenue engine for the business, owning pipeline development, conversion, and customer lifetime value across all verticals. This role partners closely with Sports, Fitness, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment between product, pricing, demand generation, and execution.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the VP of Sales is expected to operate with urgency, accountability, and a strong bias toward action, consistently identifying opportunities to drive revenue and improve performance.
Status: Full-Time; Exempt
Schedule: In-Person at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, CT
Compensation: $170,000 - $190,000 per year, commensurate with experience
Primary Responsibilities
Revenue Strategy and Business Performance
Own and drive top-line revenue across all core business lines including fitness, memberships, sponsorships and partnerships, events, birthday parties, and rentals
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that increases acquisition, conversion, and customer lifetime value
Establish clear revenue targets, pipeline expectations, and performance benchmarks across all sales channels
Partner closely with Sports leadership to align programming, pricing, and capacity with demand, driving maximum revenue across all sports offerings
Partner with Finance to track performance through weekly dashboards and monthly reporting
Identify short-term revenue opportunities and long-term growth strategies
Sponsorship and Partnership Strategy (Connecticut)
Own and lead the sponsorship and partnership strategy for the Connecticut business, while coordinating with New York
Identify, secure, and grow strategic partnerships that drive meaningful revenue and enhance brand positioning
Build and manage a pipeline of local, regional, and national partners aligned with business priorities
Partner with Marketing, Operations, and leadership teams to ensure effective activation and delivery
Integrated Sales Strategy Across All Business Lines
Develop and execute a unified sales strategy across sports, camps, events, fitness, and rentals
Eliminate silos and implement a centralized sales approach across departments
Establish clear sales processes, ownership, and accountability aligned to overall revenue strategy
Drive cross-selling initiatives to maximize yield across the full Chelsea Piers ecosystem
Partner with Sports and Operations to align sales efforts with programming capacity and inventory
Fitness Revenue Strategy and Model Transformation
Lead the redesign and execution of the fitness revenue model, including membership structure and pricing strategy
Develop scalable sales strategies that drive acquisition, retention, and overall member value
Partner closely with Fitness leadership in both Connecticut and New York to align programming, pricing, and sales approach
Ensure successful rollout of the new model, with clear timelines, benchmarks, and accountability
Leadership, Team Performance, and Accountability
Directly oversee the Membership Sales and Event Sales teams, including hiring, development, and performance management
Establish clear expectations, KPIs, and accountability structures across all sales functions
Build a high-performance, metrics-driven sales culture focused on results
Ensure consistent execution of sales processes, communication, and follow-up
Coach and develop team members to improve performance and drive results
Leadership Expectations
Operate as a strategic business leader with full ownership of revenue growth in Connecticut
Build strong, trusted partnerships with executive leaders across the organization
Use data, reporting, and dashboards to drive performance and accountability
Identify both short-term wins and long-term strategic opportunities
Set a high standard for execution, communication, and collaboration
Be visible, decisive, and action-oriented in leading the business
Qualifications
8+ years of sales experience, including senior-level ownership of revenue targets
Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth and consistently exceeding goals
Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams in multi-product or multi-revenue environments
Strong expertise in sales strategy, pipeline management, forecasting, and performance metrics
Demonstrated ability to build and execute integrated, cross-functional sales strategies
Experience with partnerships, sponsorships, and high-value deal negotiation preferred
Highly data-driven, with experience using CRM systems and sales analytics to inform decisions
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and collaborate across leadership teams
