Description:
Reporting to the Head Womens Basketball Coach, the Assistant Womens Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach to ensure the programs success as directly related to the skill development and performance of the student-athletes, as well as the recruitment, retention, and conduct of the student-athletes. As all staff members are responsible for the policy, procedures, and guidelines of Hofstra University and the job requirements specific to the particular assignments inherent to basketball. This position requires working weekends and holidays and attending athletic events as appropriate. Candidates must be willing and able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Coastal Athletic Association, and the NCAA .

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with all aspects of the Womens Basketball program, including player development, skill instruction, scouting, practice planning, game preparation, and team operations.
  • Supports the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes through recruiting outreach, relationship building, campus visits, and the use of recruiting and video analysis platforms.
  • Assists with program administration, including compliance, travel coordination, budgeting, fundraising, equipment management, academic support, and operational planning.
  • Oversees and manages the Womens Basketball social media presence and digital engagement efforts.
  • Participates in coordinaiton of camps, clinics, community outreach, marketing initiatives, alumni engagement, and special events.
  • Ensures compliance with all University, Athletics Department, CAA , and NCAA policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant coaching experience.
  • Must possess strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid drivers license.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience preferred.

Salary/Salary Range:
$85,000-$92,000 ( Annual Car Stipend $6,000)
