Head Baseball/Assistant Football Coach - Teacher (subject TBD)Primary Purpose:Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and ability to excel in assigned sport(s). Contribute to the education program as a whole and to the growth of students involved in athletics.Education/Certification:Bachelors degreeValid Texas teaching certificate Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assignedCurrent first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) certificateClear and valid Texas commercial drivers license with Passenger and School Bus endorsementsSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of core academic subject assignedKnowledge of curriculum and instructionAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsExperience:Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experienceApplications can be found on our website: www.hpisd.net
