East Union Community School District is seeking a Head Archery Coach to lead and develop a successful archery program that promotes safety, sportsmanship, teamwork, personal growth, and competitive excellence. The Head Archery Coach will oversee all aspects of the district's archery program, including student instruction, practice planning, competition preparation, equipment management, and program development.

The Head Archery Club Coach is responsible for organizing, supervising, and promoting the East Union Archery Club. The coach will provide leadership and instruction to student participants while ensuring compliance with National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) rules, safety protocols, and competition standards. The program shall operate as an extracurricular club activity of East Union Community School District.

Qualifications
  • Valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Coaching Endorsement.
  • Current NASP Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) certification, or ability to obtain certification within a timeframe approved by the district.
  • Knowledge of NASP rules, regulations, equipment standards, and tournament procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members.
  • Successful completion of all required background checks and district requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Organize and oversee all aspects of the East Union Archery Club.
  2. Conduct practices and training sessions in accordance with NASP safety guidelines and operating principles.
  3. Maintain current knowledge of NASP rules and ensure participant eligibility and compliance for all competitions.
  4. Serve as the district's primary representative for NASP tournaments, events, and communications.
  5. Develop practice plans that emphasize safety, sportsmanship, skill development, discipline, and teamwork.
  6. Supervise student participants at all practices, competitions, fundraising activities, and club events.
  7. Maintain accurate records of participant rosters, scores, tournament registrations, and eligibility requirements.
  8. Inventory, maintain, and secure all archery equipment and supplies.
  9. Ensure all equipment meets NASP standards and specifications.
  10. Coordinate tournament participation, transportation requests, and scheduling with district administration.
  11. Promote positive sportsmanship and appropriate conduct among participants and spectators.
  12. Communicate regularly with students, parents, administration, and assistant coaches.
  13. Assist with fundraising and community outreach efforts supporting the Archery Club.
  14. Promote the mission, goals, and expectations of East Union Community School District.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Activities Director or Principal.
NASP Compliance

The Head Coach shall ensure the club operates in accordance with all applicable National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) rules, tournament requirements, safety procedures, and instructor certification standards. NASP requires instruction and range operation to be conducted by trained instructors using approved equipment and safety protocols.
